Reading the north american literature books of James Fenimore Cooper from the color of paintings of Thomas Cole in the exposition of the CaixaFrom Barcelona made me write about the one of the most important book of the Cooper. The Last of the Mohicans was based on describes the colonial wars and presenting the stereotypes about Indians which included killing and kidnapping some of the people who had surrendered who described the event as a massacre. “The lengthened sheet of the Champlain stretched from the frontiers of Canada, deep within the borders of the neighboring province of New York, forming a natural passage across half the distance that the French were compelled to master in order to strike their enemies. Near its southern termination, it received the contributions of another lake, whose waters were so limpid as to have been exclusively selected by the Jesuit missionaries to perform the typical purification of baptism, and to obtain for it the title of lake ‘du Saint Sacrement.’ (p. 10) The Last of the Mohicans continues to have a historic influence not only painting also in music and in cinema. Even it is a large book for understand actual american foreign policy from the history of literature it is worth to read! -Nesrin Lopez
